I really want a baby, more than anything. I am emotionally ready and the body clock has started ticking. It’s making me really emotional because I want what I can’t have.

Steve says he wants one…eventually. This came after him saying for months that he does not want children at all. Now he is saying that he does want them eventually but when we are financially ready. The common consensus that I keep getting is that you are never truly “ready” and I have a bad feeling that Steve only said he wants children eventually to shut me up. So in reality he is stringing me along and making me hope that the time will be soon when it may never come and it is making me really REALLY depressed. 

Another problem I have is that if Steve just said this to shut me up and the time comes, he is going to be miserable. If the time never comes then I am going to be miserable so either way one of us is not happy and that is no way to have a relationship. I hope that this is all in my head but it really hurts because all I can think about is babies. Everywhere I look there is something to do with babies. A cute little newborn or someone who is pregnant or someone sending out a congratulatory email or just the smell of baby powder or seeing babies on TV. Last night an episode of our favorite show was on and 2 of the main characters were contemplating having a baby. I was squirming the entire time, then they whipped out the baby sock and I almost started crying…. oy vey!

Steve said he would book an appointment with the bank to see what they will offer us, sigh… no appointment was booked.

I asked him what the deal was and he heard from a few “friends” that the interest rate was going to drop in january. and So we wait…

I am trying to tell Steve all of the good points of buying a house since he seems terrified at the commitment. I think we are too intelligent to be paying over $1000 a month in rent. He seems to think that wasting $12000 a year or more is okay.

I tried telling him that if we buy a house we can consolidate our debt into the mortgage and then maybe we can afford a pretty new car.  Still no dice.

His concern is that he hasn’t been with me for long enough… We have been together for 3 and a half years. How long do I have to waste money? I hate wasting money and I want a house that the doggies can chew on and I won’t have to answer to a landlord.

I also don’t want to deal with AON anymore. Something goes wrong with the house and we call in a service request and then they say they will be there on a certain day so we can make sure the dogs are barricaded in a room and then they never show up. Then when they do show up it isn’t the day they said they would and they won’t come in the house because Willow is out and they are afraid of her so it takes a month to get anything fixed. So we stopped calling and started trying to fix things ourselves.

I don’t want to have to wait for that stuff anymore. I want to be able to fix things myself and not have to worry about it not being the way AON wanted it.

My shower has been detached from the wall for months and if it falls it will hit me in the face, but we didn’t bother calling because we know it will never get done or if it does it will be half assed.

If it were in a house we owned, I would just tear the damn thing out and put in a shower stall. I have helped my dad with enough home improvements that I know what I am doing for the most part.
I wish there was a way I could convince Steve that buying a house is the best thing we can do right now. The interest rates are so low right now that it is a perfect time to buy.
